Linda K. Thrift, 55, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born December 17, 1953, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Archie and Mary Young. Being a Navy Brat, she had lived all over, but the family settled in Tampa, FL, after her father's retirement.
She was a member of The Oasis A/G Church in Gray. She, her husband, and children moved to the Kingsport area in 1985.
Linda loved camping, traveling, boating and fishing with family and friends. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jim Thrift, of the home; one daughter, Megan Hensley and husband Scott; two sons, Steven Thrift and wife Kasey and Timothy Thrift and friend Geana, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Tanner and Cameron Hensley and Haven and Trinity Thrift, also of Kingsport; sister, Dayleann Patty and husband Tom of Tampa, FL; brother, Jeff Young and wife Nancy, also of Tampa, FL; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, "Halo".
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Marshall officiating.
