Lindsey Hunt Snapp

Lindsey Hunt Snapp, 66, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born on August 20, 1949 in Knoxville, TN. Lindsey was an insurance salesman in Tennessee for many years. He enjoyed shooting pool and playing basketball. Lindsey loved children and taught youth ministry at his church. He was a devout Christian and loved spreading the word of Jesus and researching the bible. He was an active member of Mercy Seat Ministries. Lindsey will be greatly missed by his family and church family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Abe Snapp and step-mother, Edna Snapp of Hazel Park, MI; mother, Ella Peacock of Brooksville, FL; grandparents, Hawkins and Willie Snapp, and Cora and Ethan Lindsey; and by several loving aunts and uncles.

Lindsey is survived by his kid sister, Linda Snapp Strickland and husband, Richard of Elkview; brother, Larry Peacock and wife, Betsy of Lakeland, FL, baby brother, James Hawkins Snapp of Hazel Park, MI; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, along with many cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11:00 am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Doug Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Limestone. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 3101 Browns Mill Rd. #6, PMB 321, Johnson City, TN 37604, and to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 214 Overlook Circle Ste. 4, Brentwood, TN 37027.
