Liza "Nicole" Vanderpool

Liza "Nicole" Vanderpool, 42, passed away on October 15, 2013, at Wellmont Hospice after a long battle with MRSA.

Nicole was born in Woodland, California, on August 27, 1971, and had spent most of her adult life in Kingsport. Before her illness she worked at Downtown Flowers and Gifts as a floral arranger and most recently at Michaels of Kingsport.

Nicole is survived by her son, Colton Seal, of Kingsport; her parents, Stella Vanderpool of Woodland, California, and Bill and Marsha Vanderpool of Kingsport; brother, Dennis Vanderpool and fiancé, Winona Grant of Woodland, California; sister, Jaime Duncan of Kingsport. She is also survived by her best friend, Kelley Waldo; special cousin, Robin Lane; father of her son, Brian Seal; special caregiver and friend, Tom Fuller, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their support and acts of kindness during Nicole's illness as well as the doctors at Duke University who became as family during her stay there, the doctors and nurses at Wellmont Hospice, and Dr. Richard Brandon and his staff.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastors Rick Vannoy and Randy Waller officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Quillen.

Graveside service will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Meet at the cemetery.
