Lloyd Ray Bishop, Sr., 76, of Kingsport, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007, in Murfreesboro, TN.
He was born in Kingsport where he had resided most of his life. Lloyd was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and retired from Holston Defense Corporation.
Preceding him in death were a son, Lloyd Ray Bishop Jr.; his parents, Farley and Lelia Sumner Bishop; and a brother, James Bishop.
Surviving are a son, Michael Scott Bishop, Murfreesboro; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn M. Bishop; three sisters, Nancy Cody and Suella Ketron, both of Georgia, Rose Berry of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating.
