Lloyd E. Booher, 85, Kingsport, joined his Savior and beloved wife early Sunday morning, July 8th, 2012. Lloyd was born in Bristol, VA and resided in Kingsport for most of his life. He was an employee of Eastman, retiring after many years of service. Lloyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WW II. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director and teacher. Lloyd had a strong passion for leading others to Christ. He was a great gardener, which he enjoyed sharing with others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Kitzmiller Booher; infant daughter, Lisa Carol; parents, Ray and Charmie Booher; sister, Virginia Lyda; and brother, Jim Booher.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Janet Booher Thornburg and special friend, Tommy McNutt of Kingsport; son, Louis Booher and wife, Dianna of Nashville, TN; grandson, Shaun Booher; granddaughter, Megan Booher Kennedy and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Chaeli, Brooklynn and Tristan; and brother, Haven Booher and wife, Kay of Blountville, TN.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10th from 5-7:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 pm with Pastor Al Smith and Pastor Kenneth Kyker officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 11th at 11:00 am at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens in Blountville, TN.
