Lois Woods Beasley, 78, died Saturday, August 8 at Wexford House.
Lois was a native of Elizabethton and a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University. Lois taught school for several years in both the Carter County and Sullivan County school systems. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Lois is survived by her husband Don M. Beasley; daughter Mary Beth Beasley and her husband Glenn A. Rudner, New York City; sister Sue Webb, Elizabethton; brother, Harry Woods, his wife Linda, Elizabethton, and their son Job and wife Kim, Bluff City; sister in law Juanita Woods, Bluff City; niece Patricia Muncie, her husband Gerald, Bluff City, and their family Sarah Tapley, and Stephanie and Amos Muncie; nephew Mike Wood and his wife Vanessa, Church Hill; nephew Howell Woods and his wife Donna, Elizabethton; nieces Valerie Carroll and her husband Del, Gray; Lisa Tester and her husband Mark, Johnson City; aunt, Ruth Greenway and cousin Peggy Rustis, Bluff City; cousins Charlotte Newton, Joan Bowers and her husband Howard, Melbourne, Florida.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents William Garce and Carrie Greenway Woods, Elizabethton; brothers George, William, Howell, Jack, Kyle; and sister Virginia Wood.
A private family service conducted by the Rev. Jack P. Weikel will be held in the near future.
