Lois Yvonne Dunn

Lois Yvonne "Toot" Dunn, Kingsport, guided by her faith in the Lord, she fought a courageous battle with cancer, never once complaining. She died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, August 2, 2012. Lois was born in Greene County, TN July 27, 1939.

She was an avid Braves fan and her greatest moments in life were being a loving mother and grandmother.

Lois was a member of Grassy Creek Freewill Baptist church. She loved her church family and enjoyed helping make candy for fund raising events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rome and Minnie Compton; her husband, Ted Dunn; and several brothers and sisters.

Lois is survived by sons, David Dunn and wife Christy, Mt. Carmel, TN, Craig Dunn and wife Sarah, Gray, TN, and Chris Dunn, Kingsport, TN; special daughter, Mary Ann Bullen and husband Chuck, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Celena Dunn Jenkins; Tenida Dunn Thomason and husband Michael, Jagger Bullen, Bailey Bullen, Justin Dunn, Brooke Spitzer, Abigail Dunn, and Tanner Dunn; great-grandson, Gabriel Jenkins; sisters, Louise Blankenbeckler and Martha Davis, both of Kingsport, TN, Janice Hicks and husband Harold, Bountville, TN, and Ina Goforth and husband Bobby, Blountville, TN; brother, Billy Compton, Kingsport, TN; special sister-in-law, Bernice Compton, Greeneville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Teddy Webb and Brother Robert Cooper officiating. The eulogy will be given by Brother Dewayne Gilliam and music will be provided by Homeward Bound.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Baileyton, TN. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. to go in procession.
