Lois McClain

Lois McClain, 92, Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 28, 2019.  She truly loved talking to people and never met a stranger.  She loved her children with all of her heart and they were her life! 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Buzz” McClain; sons, Tommy Joe and Teddy; daughter, Karen; and granddaughter, Johnnie Trent.

Lois is survived by her children, Kay Trent and husband, Ralph, Terry McClain and wife, Carolyn, and Kathy; grandchildren, Tara, Brandon and wife, Crystal, TJ, Dakota, Vanessa and Glenda; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Bob and Junior Ketron; sister, Kathleen; and niece, Snookie.

A special thank you to daughter-in-law, Carolyn for taking care of mom for the first 6 months after Karen’s death, when she was sick and grieving badly for Karen.  Carolyn was there for her when she needed it the most!  And a thank you to special friend, Cindy.   Also a sincere appreciation to granddaughter, Glenda, Chucky and Nikkii for the excellent care they gave mom around the clock.  Mom loved them dearly and they will always be remembered for being by her side.  Thank you all!!

We want to give the nurses with Smoky Mountain Health Care a very special thank you for their excellent care of mom and for their compassionate support of our family!!

The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Kelly Dykes and Rev. Lawrence Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Brandon McClain,  Ralph Trent, Tim  Dykes, Chucky Arnold,  Randy Holland, TJ McClain and Dakota.
