Lon Kemp Begley, 77, Kingsport, passed away at his home Saturday evening May 5, 2007.
Kemp was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a graduate of Sullivan High School.
He was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Begley was a member of Fort Robinson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kit Roller Begley and Parolee Willis Begley; five brothers, Fred, L. D. ?Don?, Harold, Newford, and Grady Begley; two sisters, Clara Lane and Edna Begley; and granddaughter, Melinda.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Kerns Begley, Kingsport; daughter, Lisa Faust and husband, Jeff, Kingsport; son, Kit Begley, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Randy, Matthew, and Aimee and husband, Derick; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Elma Lynn ?Tootsie? Whittemore, Kingsport; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Wallen and Rev. Phil Whittemore officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shriner Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
