Lora (Granny) Carroll

Lora (Granny) Carroll, 94, of Fall Branch passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014.

She was born in Greene County on February 4, 1920. Granny loved everyone. She attended Gospel Mission Church and Pentecost.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sambo and Mittie Charlton Roberts; her husband, Alfred K. Carroll; a son, Leroy Carroll; grandson, Daren Gregg; sisters, Jenelda, Mary Lois and Rovina; and brother, Jessie Norris.

Granny is survived by her children, Mae Jones of Kingsport, Ann Gregg of Kingsport, Lisa Porter and husband Leon of Greene County; David Carroll and wife Jeannie of Limestone, Tommy Carroll and wife, Joyce ,Limestone, TN; Rheba Sherfey and fiancé, Chuck Lovingood of Rogersville, Terrie Tipton and husband Dwight of Sumter, SC; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Laura Crawford and Willie Roberts.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Brother Dan Dolen and Brother Charlie Byrd officiating. Music will be provided by the Dolen Family.

Burial will follow at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Allen, Udd Scott and her grandsons.
