Lorena Baker Dickerson, 75, Limestone, went to be with the Lord Sunday January 11, 2009 following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of Cherry Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Lorena loved to teach her Sunday School Class. She loved her flowers and gardening and giving the fruits of her labor to her church family and friends.
Lorena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dickerson; sons, Jerry Dickerson and Richard Dickerson; two grandsons; parents, Vascom Keith and Rita Mae Baker; and sister, Lucy Skinner.
Surviving are daughter, Judy Palmer and husband, Steve, Jonesborough; sons, Donnie Dickerson and wife, Jill, Limestone, and Norman Dickerson, Limestone; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Gray, Limestone; brother, Buddy Creggar, Knoxville, and Mack Crawford, FL; daughter-in-law, Vickie Dickerson, Limestone; several nieces and nephews; several very special sisters-in-law; and very special longtime family member, Lee Odom.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Tittle and Rev. Wayne Boswell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cherry Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Limestone.
Pallbearers will be Steve Dickerson, Tommy Dickerson, Matthew Dickerson, Chris Dickerson, Mike Rector, and Jimmy Rector. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Turnmire, Ray Keys, Ben Shipley, and Robert Gibson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brenda Myers for all the help given to the family and the loving care she gave to Lorena.
