Lorene Bailey, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2015 at Holston Manor after an extended illness. Lorene was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was the daughter of the late Harlan and Nellie Bailey. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1943. Lorene worked 44 years at Parks-Belk as a salesperson where she enjoyed meeting and satisfying her customers. It was an important part of her life, and after retirement she enjoyed stopping by and spending time with fellow friends and customers.
Lorene was a devoted aunt and enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She loved to travel and after her retirement she toured throughout the country where she took photos if the many places she saw and enjoyed. Lorene enjoyed watching UT sports on television and especially enjoyed watching the Lady Vols.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Bailey Williams and Betty Ann Bailey Harmon; and two brothers, Paul Bailey and J.R. "Jack" Bailey.
Lorene is survived by her youngest sister, Peggy Crawford of Kingsport; brother-in-law and caregiver, Allen Harmon of Kingsport; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would especially like to thank the caregivers and staff of Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care Lorene received.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Driver officiating. Family and friends that plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
