Lorraine Furbee

Lorraine Furbee, 87, Kingsport, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Remington House. She was a native of Scott County Virginia. Lorraine had lived in the Washington D.C. area for most of her life and had moved to Kingsport in 1998. She was a graduate of Berea College, Berea, KY, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport.

She was preceded in death her husband, Don Furbee, Sr.; parents, W.C. and Nell Salyer; and one brother, Raymond Salyer.

Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Linda Nickerson and husband, Lee, Fairfax Station, VA, and Jane Miller, Kingsport; two sons, Don Furbee, Jr., Flagstaff, AZ, and Rob Furbee and wife, Debbie, Sandy, UT; five grandchildren, Jason Furbee and wife, Elosia, Jena Williams and husband, Landon, Matt Nickerson, Jonathan Nickerson and Joshua Miller; two great-grandchildren, Braeslee Williams and Ryker Williams; two brothers, Walt Salyer and wife, Fern, Hiltons, VA, and Jack Salyer and wife, Ruth, Piney Flats, TN; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Belle Salyer, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Dr. Ron Davis officiating. Visitation will follow at the church.
