Louise I. Vaughn Booher, 84, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 22, 2009. She was born in Surgoinsville on December 3, 1924, to William and Delila Carpenter Vaughn.
Louise was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. She had many special nieces, nephews, and friends, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill Booher; daughter, Barbara Ayers; grandson, Martin Trent, Jr.; granddaughter, Jeannie Lynn Trent; great-grandson, Andrew Ayers; seven brothers, three sisters, and her parents.
Louise is survived by a daughter, Virginia Diane Trent and husband Martin Dan of Bristol; brother, George Vaughn and wife Vernie of Kingsport; grandchildren, Marsha Trent, Jessica Trent, Yancy Ayers, Kim Hutchens, Tamara Trent, Wes Ayers, and Aaron Ayers; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dewey Shaffer and Rev. James E. Mauk officiating.
Graveside services will follow the funeral at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Thompson, Dr. Jonathan Dixon, and Dr. Eugene McClintic for their kindness and for the wonderful care they gave Louise through the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Louise's daughter, Virginia Trent.
