Louise Peace Carrell, 72, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at her residence, after an inspirational five year fight with cancer.

Born in Williamsburg, KY, Louise came to Kingsport in 1955, after graduation from Berea College, to work with Tennessee Eastman Company. She delivered Meals On Wheels each Thursday for many years and did the accounting for the Habitat for Humanity Resale Store in Kingsport for 13 years. Louise?s passion in life was her flowers, especially wildflowers, hundreds of which bloom each spring in her ?backyard?.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Miller Peace; her father, Edgar Peace; and a younger brother, Franklin, who was also a cancer victim.

Surviving are her husband, Harry Carrell, Kingsport; daughter, Lisa Carrell, Marietta, GA; two sons, Duane Carrell and wife Jan, Charleston, SC and Brian Carrell, Kingsport; sister, Winnie Compton, Columbia, MD; three brothers, Kinzel Peace, Wheeling, WVA, Ronnie Peace, Covington, KY, and Bill Peace, Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and following the memorial service Wednesday at First Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Dr. Ron Davis officiating.
