Louise Cooper, 85, of Kingsport, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Emeritus Kingsport.
She was born on July 20, 1927 in Knoxville, TN to the late Harvey and Myrtle Waggoner. During her years in Knoxville, she became a 1946 graduate of Rule High School and was a member of Beaumont Avenue Baptist Church. In 1948 she married the late Samuel Cooper with whom she lived until his death in 1997. The Coopers moved to Kingsport in 1962, where they raised their two daughters, Sharon and Kathy. She helped her husband start Kingsport Pest Control in the mid-1980's, where she worked until retirement. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Kingsport until her health precluded her regular attendance in later years.
Louise is survived by daughters, Sharon Wayne Bridges of Kingsport, and Kathy Larry Horne of Kingsport; grandsons, Jared Lori Bridges of Washington, D.C., Travis Billie Horne of Gate City, VA, Ryan Anya Bridges of Alcoa, TN, David Rebecca Bridges of Gray, TN; granddaughter, Kimberly Chandler Wilson of Johnson City, TN; and a dozen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is sister, Catherine Waggoner of Knoxville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30am on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport, 117 E. Charlemont Ave., Kingsport, TN. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am with Jared Bridges and Mikel Caywood officiating. Music will be provided by the CrossWise Quartet.
Burial will be at 3:00 pm following the funeral service at East Lawn Memorial Park.
