Lovey Kelley, 89, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Wexford House. Born in Castlewood, VA, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport. Lovey was a member of the First Baptist Church where she had been active in the choir, teaching Sunday School and the WMU. She was an active volunteer for more than 25 years at Holston Valley Community Hospital, Fun Fest, Meals on Wheels, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Center and a host of many other organizations. Lovey enjoyed gardening, crafts, Bible study, participating in sports and was especially proud of a hole in one at Ridgefields Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Frank Kelley.
Lovey is survived by three sons, Allan and wife, Mary Alice of Kingsport, Jerry and wife, Janice of Knoxville, Phil and wife, Kathy of Asheville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Alice Corker and husband Cliff, Tricia Lancor and husband, David, Jerry L. Kelley II and wife, Jill, Jason Kelley, Julie Ebert and husband, Paul, Brooke Magee and husband, Jeremy, Summer Hunt and husband, Brian; eight great-grandchildren, John Lewis Corker, Leland Corker, Sam Lancor, Dan Lancor, Jennifer Kelley, Joseph Ebert, Drew Ebert and James Magee.
Entombment services will be conducted on Thursday, November 10th, 2011 at 11:15 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Kingsport with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Koinonia Sunday School class.
