Lowell Barnette

Charles Lowell "Barney" Barnette, of Mount Carmel, passed away at home Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

Lowell was born on April 25, 1935 in Hawkins County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a first class electrician for 40 years with Tennessee Eastman Company. Lowell was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jane Rasnake Barnette; four sons, Curtis Wade Mull and wife, Jamie of Church Hill, Charles Wayne Barnette, Michael Barnette, and wife, Ada, David Allen Barnette and wife, Chastity all of Kingsport; two granddaughters, Misty Lynn Barnette, Chelsea Barnette; five grandsons, Roger, Shane, Trevor, Joel and Sam Barnette.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, June 24, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 7 pm with Pastor Johnny Gibson and Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery.
