Lowell Thomas "Tommy" Carter
Lowell Thomas "Tommy" Carter 64, of Kingsport, died Wednesday afternoon at the Hospice House in Bristol. Born in Scott County, VA, he had resided in Sullivan County most of his life. He was a Pentecostal.
Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Carter; three sisters; and six brothers.
He is survived by a daughter, Anita Cross and husband Darrell of Bristol, VA; a son, Joshua Carter of the home; step-son, James Graybeal of the home; two grandchildren, Jessee Cross and Amanda Music; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Sam, and Gabby; several step-grandchildren; sister, Gladys "Beth" Sourbeer of Bristol, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Rev. Donald A. Madden officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
