LTC. Wayne Gray Lambert

Wayne fought his last fight for his health and left this earth with his daughter holding his hand on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

LTC. Wayne Gray Lambert was born in Bonny Blue, Virginia in 1936. His family left the coal mining area and moved to Blackwater, Virginia where he graduated from Blackwater High School. He received his BA in Business Education from Union College, now Union University, and a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. Wayne was in the Army National Guard and Reserves, retiring with 30 years of military service for his country. He was a proud Patriot.

Tennessee Eastman employed Wayne for 38 years, working in several areas, but always using his accounting knowledge. He held leadership positions in several fields, but none compared to his position as Father, Daddy, Papaw and Grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Kate and George Lambert; son, Gerard W. Lambert; and brother, George Rondy Lambert.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frankie Sage Lambert; daughter, Angellette Lambert Richardson and husband Max; and sister, Charlene Lambert Arwood and husband Doug.

He was very proud of his granddaughters; Caitlin Richardson Parsons and husband Lance, Jorah Gray Parsons, Callie Richardson, Jacy Richardson and fiancé Jacob Bailey, and Madison Dagen; and three nieces and one nephew, Tuesday Reynolds and husband Tim, Rhonda Lambert Dykes and husband Tim, Lilly Grace Reynolds and Seth Reynolds.

A graveside service will take place at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Rites presented by The American Legion 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Doug Arwood, Jacob Bailey, Bruce Mullins, Lance Parsons, and Max Richardson.
