Lucile Rush

Lucile Rush, 93, died peacefully in her sleep at Wexford House on Monday, March 3, 2014. She suffered from a long illness but never complained and maintained a positive attitude. She was a graduate of Auburn University. After years of being a homemaker she worked at Bingham's Furniture Store, and then embarked on a new career with Blue Ridge Properties, which she continued well into her seventies. Lu was a long-standing member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, the Crusade Class, and the Pairs and Spares Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Rush, Jr., and grandson, Adam F. Lively.

Lu is survived by children, Ronald Rush of Marietta, GA, Barbara Lively and Mark Rush both of Kingsport; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rene Pollard of Jacksonville, FL, and Danny Sue Connor of Auburn, AL.

There will be a memorial service in the chapel of First Broad Street United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11:00 am to celebrate Lucile's life. The family will receive friends in the parlor following the service or at anytime at the home of her daughter, Barbara Lively at 444 High Ridge Rd., Kingsport, TN.

Gifts in lieu of flowers can be made to the Friendship Diner, c/o First Broad Street United Methodist Church, 100 East Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.

We would like to thank the staff of Wexford House and Baysmont for taking such good care of Lu over the years.
