God called Lucille Vaughn Crawford, of Kingsport, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. She had been a resident of Kingsport all her life. Lucille was a very talented and artistic seamstress and craftsperson. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts and making clothes for her family. Lucille loved tending her beautiful roses and flower gardens. She was a member of Pleasant View Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude G. and Venus P. Vaughn; sister, Virginia Gott; brother, Ralph Vaughn and wife, Mildred; sisters-in-law, Delores Vaughn, Pearl Overbay and husband, El, and Eula Mae Crawford; and brothers-in-law, Harold Crawford, James Crawford and wife, Ola, and Darrel Crawford and wife, Louise.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Delbert F. Crawford of Kingsport; son, R. Dennis Crawford and wife, Betsy of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Melissa Powers and husband, Scott of Kingsport, and Kimberly Thompson and husband, Roy of Clermont, GA ; three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Powers of Kingsport, and Ryan Thompson of Clermont, GA; sister, M. Kathleen Brewer and husband, Fred, brother, A. H. Hack Vaughn and wife, June and brother-in-law, Karl Gott, all of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stallard and husband, Kermit of Fall Branch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Scott Powers, Roy Thompson, Christopher Powers, Nicholas Powers, Ryan Thompson and Johnny Howlington.
