Lucille Hunt

Lucille Hunt, 84, Kingsport, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation-Hillside.

She was born in Russell County, Virginia, and had lived most of her life in Kingsport. Mrs. Hunt was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul Hunt; parents, Conley and Mary Lou Meade; two brothers, Guy W. Meade Sr. and Billy J. Meade; and one sister, Virginia Pauline Meade.

Surviving are one daughter, Dolores Compton and husband, John Allen of Kingsport; one son, Doyle Hunt and wife, Sheila of Fall Branch; two grandchildren, Dustin Hunt and Shonda Peters and husband, David; one great-granddaughter, Makenzie Peters; one sister, Gertrude Sutherland of Flint, Michigan; one special niece, Kim Prater and husband Henry of Kingsport; several other nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law, Otis Hunt and wife, Bernie of Kingsport, and Herbert Hunt and wife, Joyce of Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor William E. Cahill officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Bledsoe, Paul Godsey, Jim Anderson, Glen Bass, and Lyle Egan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vermont United Methodist Church, Love Meals Program, 1817 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport, TN 37660.
