Luther Gene Good

Luther Gene Good, 79, Gray, went to be with the Lord and Savior at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Luther was born in Washington County where he had lived his entire life. He was an employee of the Washington Highway Department until his retirement. He was a member of the Way of Life Baptist church and attended various churches. Luther was much-loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, and a grandson, Jacob Dean Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley June Good of the home; daughters, Martha Estepp and husband Randy of Gate City, VA, and Betty Bishop of Gray; sons, Ray Good and wife Linda of Johnson City, Stevie Good and wife Sherry of Gray, Bobby Good and wife Debbie of Fall Branch, and Terry Good and wife Karen of Baileyton; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sue Hardan and Linda Dye, both of Johnson City.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Leedy officiating.

Burial will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
