Luther K. Grizzle, 65, fell asleep peacefully Saturday morning, May 12, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with his family by his side.
Luther worked as a barber in Weber City until declining health and was of the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Etta Grizzle; and sons, Brent K. Grizzle and Damon Grizzle.
Luther leaves behind his son, Toby L. Grizzle and wife Davida; the mother of his children, Wilma Hite Grizzle; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Eulene and James Smith, Nancy and Frankie Wininger, Helen and David Turner, Susie and Daniel McMurray, all of Gate City, VA, and Evelyn and Johnny Chavis of Bamberg, SC; one brother, Ray Grizzle of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
His siblings would like to give special thanks to our brother-in-law, Frankie Wininger, who took special care of our brother and stood by him until the end.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff DeBoard officiating. Music will be provided by Marcus and Christie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be brothers-in-law and nephews.
