Mabel A. Baines, Horseshoe Bend Road, Jonesborough, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center June 8, 2010.
Mrs. Baines was the daughter of the late Elmer Winfield and Cora Lee Jackson. Mrs. Baines was a housewife and mother, and a lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesborough.
Mrs. Baines was preceded in death by her husband, William E. ?Bill? Baines; her brothers, Frank Jackson and wife, Rose, Andrew Jackson and wife, Pansey, Lee Jackson and wife Edith, and Roby Jackson; sisters, Mrs. Mary H. Scott and Mrs. Ruth Lipinski.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Louann Baines, of the home, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Roby Jackson, of Limestone, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 ? 8 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Services will follow at 8:00, with Rev. Victor Wallace and Rev. Stuart McClean officiating, and music provided by Terry Hunt.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Jonesborough.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. James W. Hanse and nurses, Dr. James T. Dykes and nurses, Betty Stevens of Johnson City Internal Medicine, all the friends and family members who were with us during the last month, and the Smoky Mountain Home Health Associates who have helped us provide loving care for the past two years.
