Mable E. Dodson Hoard Goins, 84, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2011 after an extended illness.
Born in Hawkins County, she was the daughter of the late Grant Franklin Dodson and Ethel Lunsford Dodson Castle. She worked at Magnavox in Greeneville for 20 years. She attended Providence Church in Rogersville for many years and was a faithful member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, James T. Lunsford, Sr. and Lucy Ward Lunsford; former husband, Clyde Hoard; brother Clifford Dodson; brother-in-law Milburn Moody and great-granddaughter Autumn Williams.
Survivors include husband George Goins of Kingsport; sons, Vincent Hoard and wife, Carolyn of Kingsport, Gregory Hoard of Maryland; daughters, Linda Faye Cropper and husband, Ron of Church Hill, Kaye Jennings and husband, Larry of Kingsport, step-sons, Robert Goins and wife, Gaye of Clinton, Matthew Goins and wife, Diane of Knoxville, step-daughter, Ada Bird and husband, Vernon of Clinton; grandchildren, Melynda Williams, Dalynda Winstead, Tabatha Christian, Chad Jennings, Todd Jennings, Brent Hoard, Malincent Jaynes, step-granddaughter Barbara Quillen; great-grandchildren, Josh and Amber Williams, Chantelle and Paiten Winstead, Whitney, Katie, Megan, Emily and Bryson Christian, Landon, Justin, and Melanie Jaynes, Sydney and Ethan Jennings; step-grandchildren, Caleb and Callie Quillen; sisters, Lorraine Moody, Kathleen Castle; brother, George Dodson and wife, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Maxine Dodson; several nieces and nephews; and special uncle, Johnie Lunsford and wife, Brenda.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 8 pm with Pastor Stanley Sims and Rev.Todd Jennings officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11 am on Friday Oak Hill Memorial Park.
