Major George Lewis Beals, 93, of Kingsport passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015.
George was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. George served his country during World War II and retired from the military.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sibyl Owens Beals; son, Gary Lewis Beals and wife, Angie; daughter, Nancy Ann Siner and husband, John; grandsons, Jeff Beals and wife, Lindsey, and Greg Beals and wife, Elizabeth; granddaughters, Emily, Laura and Sarah Siner; and great-grandsons, Canaan and Everett Beals.
A memorial service will be held at First Broad Street United Methodist Church Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2 pm in the sanctuary with the Rev. Jim Pollock and Rev. Harrison Bell officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
