Malana Cox Jobe

Malana Cox Jobe, 39, formerly of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 9, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness with MS. She was born in Fort Bragg, NC, and resided in the Fall Branch area for many years.

Malana had worked at Indian Path Medical Center for several years. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a fan of the New Orleans Saints and an avid NASCAR fan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Venice F. Cox; maternal grandmother, Anna L. Kolarsky; aunt, Deborah Coates; and uncle, George Coates.

Malana is survived by her son, J.T. Cox, Fall Branch; mother, Donna Byington and husband, Rev. Fred, Fall Branch; sister, Theresa Word and husband, Jason, Houston, TX; two aunts, Peggy Welsh and husband, Ron, Houston, TX, and Dee Dee Booher and husband, Anthony, Blountville, TN; two uncles, Mark Kolarsky and wife, Lori, Fall Branch, and Steve Kolarsky, Fall Branch; step-sister, Margaret Souder and husband, Duane, Rising Sun, Maryland; step-brother, Chad Byington and wife, Missy, Kingsport; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 12, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Garland Tipton and Rev. Rick Collins officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 11:00 am at Howard Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Melvin Lawhorn, Carl Lawhorn, Jason Coates, George Coates, and Tyler Kolarsky.
