Malcolm Edward "Ed" Dye, 68, Kingsport, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, at his home.
He lived in the Richlands, Virginia, area most of his life coming to Kingsport 15 Years ago. Ed was employed in the coal mining industry and was self-employed in the last 15 years. He attended Arcadia Presbyterian Church.
Three brothers, William R. Dye, Marvin C. Dye, and Elbert P. Dye, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Smith Dye of Kingsport; one daughter, Thea Puckett and husband Jeff of Kingsport; two sons, Craig Dye and wife Janet of Charlottesville, Virginia, Todd Dye and wife Lisa of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Trenton, Lance, Dagny, Kassie, Ryan, Laken, and Lexie; one sister, Madeline Fletcher of Portsmouth, Virginia; and two brothers, James C. Dye of Kingsport, and Hubert D. Dye of Ripley, West Virginia.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Arcadia Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Irwin and Richard Dye officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Arcadia Presbyterian Church, 4616 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
