Margaret Jane Johnson

Margaret Jane Johnson, age 83 of Blountville, TN, died peacefully in the early morning hours on August 19, 2024. Born and raised in Sullivan County, she was a graduate of Holston High School. Margaret was a lifelong member of Wheeler Methodist Church, a devoted Christian and loved flower gardening. She made arrangements for her church, weddings and almost every special occasion. Margaret loved to travel, especially on the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the beach. She was a very talented artist, very creative and had a special interest in tole painting. Margaret will forever be remembered as a loving wife and mother and that her children were her pride and joy.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Eb and Mamie Henry; brothers, Kyle Henry, Donald Henry, Bobby Henry, Carl Henry; and sister, Reva Henry.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charlie Johnson; son, Greg Johnson, and daughters, Alice Johnson and Cindy Smalling; grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Smalling; sister, Betty Jo Norris; brothers, Jerry Henry (Nancy), and E.B. Henry and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, TN in the Garden of Solomon. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Tony Collins.
