Margaret Layne

Margaret Layne, 83, Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2007, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Born in Greene County, she had resided most of her life in Washington County. She attended Vernon Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Layne was owner and operator of Layne?s Beauty Shop in the Vernon Heights community.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Will J. Layne; a son, Darius ?Nig? Fleenor; her parents, Johnny and Rose Morrison; and one brother, Carl Morrison.

Surviving are two daughters, Melissa R. Lawson and husband, Bob, Fall Branch, Colleen Malone, Kingsport; one granddaughter, Angela Trivette King of Grapevine, TX; one sister, Lotus Burton and husband, Paul, Kingsport; and one sister-in-law, Beulah Morrison, Church Hill.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Morrison Family Cemetery in Fall Branch. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 12:45 pm.
