Margaret Powell Light

Margaret Powell Light, 91, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, June 19, 2012, at 11:33 am at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Surgoinsville, TN, she had resided in Kingsport since 1924. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe K. Light in 1989; her parents, Sam and Ada Powell; and two brothers, Chester and Sam.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Gragg and husband, Billy of Greeneville, TN and Mrs. Rita Powers and husband, David of Kingsport; sister, Mrs. Opal King and husband, Carl of Lakeland, Florida; brother, C. Wayne Powell of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Anthony Gragg, Angela Anderson and Sabrina Price; and six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Lofton, Tyler, Chloe, Emma and Aaron.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22nd from 4:30 - 7:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor David Powers, Brother Tim Price, Brother Billy Gragg and Brother Anthony Gragg officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, June 23rd at 2:00 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Anthony Gragg, Tyler Gragg, Tim Price, Paul Roberts, Larry Donald, Charlie Dingus and Jimmy Addington. Honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Price.
