Margaret Meyerand

Margaret Louise Meyerand, 87, was born in Dante, VA, on October 28, 1925. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2013.

She was a remarkable woman who had many great passions. She had a love for sewing and growing flowers but her greatest passion was serving in her church. She attended Cornerstone Church in Boones Creek and always looked forward to spending time with her church family.

Margaret also had a great love for her husband, Robert P. Meyerand, and their family. She had 3 daughters, Betty Rutledge Reina, Linda Steinmann (deceased) and Nancy Free; and four sons, Bobby Rutledge, David Meyerand, Kevin Meyerand, and Frank Martin. She was also blessed to have 15 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 9 great-grandsons, 4 great-granddaughters, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside service will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Jimmy Bateman, Eddie Rutledge, Terry Rutledge, Aaron Free, Ryan Free, Travis Free, Joshua Steinmann, and Justin Steinmann. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Free, Nathan Free, Randy Rutledge and Matthew Meyerand.

Following the graveside, a time of remembrance and celebration will be held at Cornerstone Church at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Barry L. Burns officiating.
