Margaret Hood Miller

Margaret passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was retired from Sullivan County School Food Services and was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church. Margaret enjoyed cooking at Mount Mariah Youth Camp, working in her church, doing service for her neighbors and supported several overseas children and several charities including St. Jude's, Boy's Town and the American Cancer Society.
Margaret was preceded in death by: father, Millard Reece; mother, Bonnie Bishop Reece; first husband, Earl W. Hood, Sr.; one brother, Jessie Reece, several brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.

She is survived by: husband E.L. Miller; daughter Jeanne Parker (Shafer); sons Earl Hood Jr. (Ruth Ann) and Thomas Hood (Jenifer); grandsons Joshua Parker (Carol), Aaron Parker (Gisselle), Matthew Hood (Abby), Brian Hood (Kelly),Stephen Hood and Noah Hood and 3 great-grandchildren; Sisters Joyce Chambers (Darryl) and Brenda Reece; Brothers Dale Reece and Clyde Reece (Lillian); Sister-in-law Faye Hood; brother-in-law James Hood, step-son Jimmie Miller (Connie); step daughters-in-law Garneta Miller and Bonnie Miller; eight step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Dr. David Franzus and Dr. Paul Kramer and their staffs and neighbors Benny, Robin and Kaitlyn Ketron. Also much thanks to her personal care givers Bridget Peters, Rene Flanagan and Nancy McNally.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor David Foster officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made the Orebank Missionary Baptist Church, 5930 Orebank Rd., Kingsport, TN, 37664.
