Margaret ?Mamaw? ?Granny? Barr Rector, 95, of Limestone, reached her eternal home after leaving her earthly home on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 with her son James ?Bill? Rector? by her side.

Born on July 29, 1911 to the late Ben and Mary Barr, Margaret was a homemaker and a farmer?s wife. She loved to sew, quilt, cook, can her own food, and loved being around her family.

Margaret was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for 65 years, serving as the eldest active member of the church. She served on the Administrative Board, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was also a part of the Women?s Club.

She was a member of the Jonesborough Senior Center and a devoted friend to many.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Milburn Rector; daughter, Mamie Rector; grandchildren, Mamie Jewel Lowe, Stanley ?Butch? Lemmons, and Timmy Chase; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Rector and Wilma Reactor; son-in-law, Jess Lemmons; four sisters; and six brothers.

Surviving are four daughters, Helen Lemmons of Kingsport, Peggy Walker of Limestone, Shirley Chase of Johnson City, and Mavis Rupert of Fall Branch; two sons, James ?Bill? Rector of Limestone and Harlan Rector of Jonesborough; eleven grandchildren ; eighteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. Sam Neeley, Rev. Lee Ward, and her loving grandson, Allen Love officiating. Music will be provided by Gail Rector and Albert ?Bill? Keys.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Mike Rector, Jimmy Rector, Allen Rector, Gary Rupert, Tony Chase, and Chris Blevins.

Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Blevins known as ?that?s my boy?.
