Margaret K. Tyler

Margaret K. (Grills) Tyler, 82, of Kingsport, died early Monday, October 16, 2023. She attended Oak Glen Baptist Church in Gate City, VA. Margaret enjoyed cooking, sewing, making things, and helping others. She loved saltwater fishing and was always ready for a good fish fry.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya Tyler Morse; and her parents, Rev. Charles Grills and Dorothy Fern Grills Christian.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, Glen Tyler, Sr.; her son, Glen Tyler, Jr. (Pam); sisters, Billie Sue Grills and Nancy Johnson (Coy); eight granddaughters, Becky Crouch (Wes), Tiffany Marcum, Mandy Joseph (Damon), Desiree Marcum (Cavan), Allison Tyler, Alicia Ellis (Adam), Jacinda Beaudoin (Bo), Caitlin Christian (Jessie); and 25 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Danny Sykes and Bro. Pete Barbour officiating. Music will be provided by Bro. John DeLeon and the congregation.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the graveside by 10:45 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Pete Barbour, Stan Richards, Greg Blessing, Adam Ellis, Damon Joseph, Cavan Beals, and Jessie Christian.
