“SHE LOVED THE LORD”

Margie Doran Hand, 88, Blountville, TN passed away peacefully to go home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Greystone Healthcare Center following a period of declining health.

She was born in Sullivan County, TN on August 27, 1931.  Margie was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Bowery Doran.  She has resided in the area her entire life.

Margie married Marion Hand on January 19, 1952 in Kingsport, TN.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  Margie loved the Women’s Ministry at the Church.

Mrs. Hand will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mom, nanny, mamaw, sister and friend who loved the farm life, her roses, and her cat, Little Foot. 

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hand, parents: Robert and Bertha Doran; two sisters and six brothers.

Surviving are her three daughters: Linda Kaywood and husband John of Kingsport, Wanda Wilson and husband Johnny of Kingsport, Barbara Sparks and Will of Kingsport, and two grandchildren: April Wilson and John Kaywood II and several other family members.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church. Rev. Randy Shupe will be officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45am on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2116 Shipley Ferry Road, Blountville, TN 37617.
