Margie Lee Robinson, 83, went to be with Jesus and family Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at her home.

She was born in Gaffney, South Carolina - the 17th of 18 children - grew up in Blackwater, Virginia, where she met and married her husband, Carl J. Robinson now deceased, and was a resident of Kingsport for over 60 years. Mrs. Robinson was a devoted member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Rogers; an infant daughter, Patricia Faye Robinson; a grandson, Simon Carter Barrett; a great-grandson, Elijah Robinson; and several sisters and brothers.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Barrett of Kingsport; sons, Lloyd Carl Robinson and wife Sue of Fairborn, Ohio, Johnny Robinson and wife Wilma of Kingsport, Dewey Robinson of Kingsport; an adopted son-in-spirit, Brian Harvill of Kingsport; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Marie Odell Lawson of Rogersville; one brother, Jessie Sprouse of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Patty Walton of Brooklyn, Indiana, Francis Walton of Akron, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to hospice nurses, Becky, Josie, Misty, and Iva.

Friends may call any time at the residence and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Apostolic Lighthouse Church on Shipp Springs Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church with Brother Herb Harrington officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dewey Robinson, Brian Harvill, Rick Barrett, Johnny Robinson Jr., Carl James Robinson, Mike Robinson, and Daniel Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Barrett and Josh Robinson.
