Margie Chase Slagle, 84, Gray, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10th, 2007, at Greystone Health Care. A life-long resident of the Eastern Star Community, she and her husband owned and operated Slagle?s Grocery in Sulphur Springs for many years.
Margie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Rex Chase.
She is survived by her husband, C. T. ?Tom? Slagle of Gray; a sister, Ozena Carroll of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Ronnie Chase, and wife Teresa, Piney Flats, and Jimmy D. Chase and wife Judy, Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Lillian Chase, Kingsport; several nieces; and one nephew.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service of remembrance will follow at 7:00, with Rev. Larry Nelson officiating. Burial will be on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m., at the Eastern Star Free-Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
