Maria Filiberti, 79, of Kingsport, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Hospital.
Maria was born in Italy and immigrated to America when she was sixteen years old. She worked as a seamstress in New York City for 50 years and moved to Kingsport in 2007 with her husband and daughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Antonio and Luisa Bona; her brother, Giovanni Bona; her sister, Angilona Merlini; and son-in-law, Joseph Bozzi.
Maria is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruno Filiberti; daughter, Louise Bozzi; and brother, Louis Bona.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating.
