Maridane Hood Christian

Maridane Hood Christian, 80, of Kingsport, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016. She was born in Sullivan County, where she lived her entire life. Maridane graduated from Dobyns Bennett. She worked at Eastman and later retired from Sullivan County Department of Education. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a wonderful "Mammy" to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy E. Christian; daughter, April Moody; granddaughter, Leslie Moody; and her parents, Dana and Edna Hood.

Maridane is survived by her two daughters, Page Tate and husband, Eddie of Kingsport, and Jill Schindler and fiancé Ricky Laborde of Louisiana; grandchildren, Katie Swann, Courtney Nobles, Lauren Booher and fiancé Cody Henry, Ray Schindler, Christian Tate, Madison Tate, Isaac Tate, Ezra Tate, and Angela Liles; great-grandchildren, Rylan Henry, Ridlee Liles, Tristian Liles, and Blakely Dubroc; and brother, Eddie Hood.

The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Charles G. Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
