Marie Jones Calton, 90, went to her heavenly home on Friday, May 29, 2015.
After 26 years of service, she retired in 1986 from the Sullivan County School system as a Cafeteria Manager.
Marie was loving and devoted to her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church, where she was the oldest person, and had the longest membership in the history of the church. She loved to read, work puzzles, and watch Nascar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vivert O. "Tuffy" Calton; an infant son, Charles Ernest; and parents, Ernest and Alice Mulkey Jones.
Marie is survived by son, Aaron and wife Darlene; daughter, Kathy Salyers and husband Randy; four grandchildren, Bekki Cox and husband Dow, Katrina McReynolds and husband Geoff, Katelyn and Caleb Salyers; four great-grandsons, Braden, Cole, Dow, and Mason; special friends, Patsy Copas and Jo Odom.
At her request, graveside services only will be conducted at East Lawn Memorial Park on Monday at 10 am with Rev. Susan Lankford officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend service.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Marie, donations may be made to Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church 3W Womens Group; 1000 Kendricks Creek Road; Kingsport, TN 37663.
