Marie L. Templeton Coleman, 88, a 36-year resident of Oak Ridge was born May 28, 1920, in Statesville, NC, and passed away Tuesday morning September 9, 2008, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a homemaker for 73 years and was an excellent seamstress and needlecrafts artist. Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge, TN.
Marie was the daughter of the late Samuel Melton and Maggie Lela Templeton. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Thomas Haskell Coleman Sr.; a daughter, Kathy Marie Coleman; and siblings, Nettie Mae Burgess, Theodore R. Templeton, Jettie Cross, Ulysses Bill S. Templeton, and Benjamin F. Templeton.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Haskell Coleman, Jr. of Johnson City, TN, Larry Dale and Dana Coleman of Jonesborough, TN, Charles Edward and Leona Coleman of Clarksville, TN, Dana Melton and Susan Coleman of Oak Ridge, TN; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Daub officiating and eulogy by Timothy Coleman.
