Marie Gregg

Marie Gregg, 73, Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Franklin Woods Hospital following an illness.

She was a member of Borings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She had worked as a custodian at Daniel Boone High School.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Gregg; one son, Keith Gregg; two brothers, E.G. and Clifford Whitaker; one sister, Minnie Jo Mitchell; and her parents, John and Annie Whitaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Gregg; three grandchildren, Brian Gregg, Terry Jones, and Jennifer Jones; four great-grandsons, Dylan Dykes, Blake Shipley, Harlan Shipley, and Timothy Carver; three brothers, Jack Whitaker and wife, Ella Mae, Roy Whitaker, Sr., and wife, Elsie, and Dwight Whitaker.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Thursday (December 18, 2014) at Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch Chapel.

The service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Earl Bailey, Rev. David Hutchins, and Rev. Jim Odum officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Friday (December 19, 2014) at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
