Marie Hall Lane, 74, of Kingsport died Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2008, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, she resided in Franklin, Ohio, for many years before moving back to the Kingsport area in 1996. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Emett and Lillie Peak; one sister, Claudia Peak; and two brothers, Walter Peak and Norman "Bug" Peak.
Surviving are her husband, Orbin Lane of Gate City, VA; two sons, Jimmie R. Hall and wife Cynthia of Columbia, South Carolina, Timmy D. Hall and wife Wanda of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Shawnya Lisko, Amy Dawn Davis, Pam Jones; two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Mason; one sister, Dorothy Cottongown of Lebanon, Ohio; and four brothers, Garnie Peak of Lebanon, Ohio, Pal Peak of Camden, Ohio, and Gene Peak of Orlando, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Laney Cemetery in Fort Blackmore, Virginia. Those attending should meet at the cemetery.
