Marie Kathryn "Dolly" Olterman went to be with the Lord on March 18 , 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband James "Shine" Olterman.
She is survived by daughters Kathy Foerster and husband Bill; Lisa Catron and husband Craig; Suzanne Dugger and husband Brent; son Tom Olterman and wife Dee; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildrena"who will all cherish their memories of her. She is also survived by a sister, Iva Nell Clark; brothers, James " Bud" Clark, OG Clark, and Earl Clark; nieces, Jackie Morelock and husband Dean; Judy Purner and husband Frank , as well as, many other special nieces and nephews.
Dolly was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. She worked in retail sales for ten years prior to going to work for the Kingsport Housing Authority. While at the Kingsport Housing Authority, she served as a housing specialist . She loved her job and the people she was able to assist. She also served on several boards including the American Red Cross and the Shelter for Battered Women.
Dolly was a long-time member of First Christian Church. Meeting and helping others brought her great joy. She touched the lives of many people, and they touched her life as well. She loved her family and left them with a legacy of love that will be passed down through generations.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Paul Kramer and his staff. Misty Venett of the Wellmont Hospice Staff, and Leona Bordwine for their care, compassion, and support.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday March 20 at First Christian Church in Kingsport. There will be a service in celebration of her life at the church at 1 pm. Graveside services will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons , Andrew Foerster, Derek Olterman, Matt Curtis, Brian Ritz, David Clendenin, and nephew, Shannon Morelock.
