Marie Dumbaugh Russin, 87 of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Indian Path Medical Center surrounded by her family and caregivers.
Marie was born on April 3, 1923 in Butler, PA. She graduated from Butler High School and worked at Butler Mellon Bank. She married Nicholas C. Russin on May 24, 1947 and they moved to Kingsport in 1950.
Marie was a talented flower arranger and loved to arrange flowers for her church, Colonial Heights Presbyterian, especially decorating the sanctuary at Christmas. She was a member of Country Garden Club of Colonial Heights, Flower Lover's Garden Club and Eastern Star. Marie loved to perform dramatic readings and entertained many friends and family members. She loved attending Sullivan Central High School football and basketball games in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Marie was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain. She was a member of several bridge clubs. She was a long time member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church where she attended Martha Circle and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was a very loving spouse, mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death are her spouse of over 62 years, Dr. Nick Russin and her parents, Clifford T. and Pearl Dumbaugh.
Marie is survived by her son, Thomas Nicholas Russin of Kingsport; daughters, Nicki Bacon and husband Joe of Franklin, TN; daughter Sally Russin-Dingus and husband Mark of Kingsport; grandchildren, Wes, Chase and Emily Bacon; sisters, Phyllis Diehl Russell, Sally Masters Robert and Nancy Farinelli John all of Butler, PA. Also, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty York and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2 pm. Reverend Tom Phillips will officiate.
Graveside services will be conducted at Oak Hill Memorial Park February 13 at 2 pm in the Masonic Park section. Pallbearers will be family.
