Marilyn Hargrave Cox, Kingsport, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Wymore, Nebraska, she moved to Kingsport at the age of six. She was a member of The Little House and Garden Club and Friends of the Library.
Mrs. Cox was a member of St. Paul s Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in The Women of the Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mark C. Hargrave and Olga R. Hargrave; sister, Adelaide H. Bradley; and brother, Rawlings Hargrave.
Surviving are her husband, Phillip King Cox, Kingsport; her children, Cathy Cox Roberts and husband Bob of Richmond, KY, Patricia Jane Cox Clark and husband Charles N. Clark M.D. of Knoxville, TN, John DeWitt Cox and wife Karen of Gate City, VA; eight grandchildren, Joe Roberts, John Roberts and wife Kate, Carlyn McMillian and husband Jeff, Charles Clark, Jr. M.D., Katherine Clark, Jessica Cox, Kevin Cox, and Lindsey Cox; two great-grandchildren, Brady McMillian and Claire Roberts; brother, Mark C. Hargrave Jr. of Pittsford, NY; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Hargrave Bailey and Lynnie Chadwell Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Edward James Mills III officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
