Marion Myrtice Hudson

Marion Myrtice Cruff Hudson, 83, of Kingsport, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Preston Place II. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Taunton, MA and grew up in Attleboro, MA. Marion graduated from Attleboro High School in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph E. Hudson, Jr. in August of 1952. Marion was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Marion was an active volunteer through the years at St. Dominic's Catholic Church and school, Holston Valley Community Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was also on Ridgefield's Country Club Board of Directors.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ralph Edward Hudson, Jr., of Kingsport; mother, Alice Cloutier Cruff of Attleboro, MA; sister, Eileen Cruff Turcotte; and brother, Howard Cruff, Jr.

Marion is survived by her children, Joy H. Rhoton of Kingsport, Linda H. Cancro of Wall Township, NJ, James S. Hudson and wife, Sherry of Johnson City, TN, Richard P. Hudson and wife, Kathy Aspy Hudson of Franklin, TN, Patricia H. Nottingham and husband, John of Kingsport, and Robert M. Hudson and wife, Leslie of Hendersonville, TN; 16 grandchildren, Tyler Rhoton, Paul, Rob, Caroline and Christie Cancro, Jennifer, Andy and Sam Curde, Russell, Bradi and Scotty Hudson, Elizabeth, Andrew and William Nottingham, and Joshua and Erica Hudson; and great-grandson, Vann Edward Hudson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at St. Dominic Catholic Church. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Deacon Bob Lange officiating.

The Hudson family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Preston Place II for their loving care of Marion over the past 3 ½ years. Also, their thanks go to Amedisys Hospice for making her last days more comfortable.
